Advisory Board

Laura Cusack is president emeritus and former Director of Programs for the Human Trafficking Coalition of the Palm Beaches, where she oversaw training, prevention education, and community partnerships.

She launched and led Place of Hope’s Human Trafficking Prevention Education Program (2018–2020) and co-founded the HOPE Campaign (2017), which partnered with hotels to locate missing children and promote awareness of the National Human Trafficking Hotline. She has also participated in street outreach with law enforcement, and taught diversion courses for men arrested for buying sex.

In 2021, Laura created the Coalition’s the Survivor Support Fund, which has awarded more than $11,000 via partner agencies and helps fill critical gaps in survivor needs. Laura was also named Victim Advocate of the Year in 2021 by the Palm Beach County Victims’ Rights Coalition.  

Laura previously served five years as Board Chair of the Coalition, overseeing its nonprofit certification, rebranding, and strategic growth through board development and strengthened community partnerships. Since 2020—when she became Board Chair—the Coalition has educated more than 53,943 community members. She currently also consults for the Palm Beach County Human Trafficking Task Force. From 2024-2026, Laura served as the organization’s first Director of Programs.
